Emotional intelligence meets task management
Our emotions are important signals of our mental health, warning us when it’s time to slow down. Yet, many of us ignore them to keep up with our to-do lists.
For women especially, daily feelings are influenced by factors like hormonal cycles, seasons, sleep, relationships, and energy levels. Noticing and understanding these factors empowers self-awareness and enables task management that aligns with your actual capacity, supporting overall well-being.
Pace of Mind flips the productivity paradigm: instead of fighting against your emotional state, it helps you plan around it. By selecting your current season, cycle phase, and workload, the app’s emotion calculator generates personalized task recommendations tailored to your real capacity.
The core interaction is a draggable wheel built entirely in SpriteKit. Users spin three concentric rings—season, cycle phase, and workload—each snapping into place with haptic feedback. The combination feeds into the emotion calculator, producing one of four states: bored, calm, happy, or stressed. The scene reacts instantly, updating background color, wave animation, character expression, and guidance message in real time.
Custom SKNode rings rotate independently, snap to discrete positions, and respond to touch.
Combines season, cycle phase, and workload into energy points mapped to four emotional states.
Background, wave, character, and message update simultaneously with emotion changes.
Touch feedback for ring snaps; heavy impact triggers when stressed.
Each state displays practical task management guidance.
